  26. This guide contains the information you need to install our Windows 95
  27. drivers and tools for your Hercules product.

  30. If You're Updating From An Earlier Release
  31. ==========================================

  33. If you already have an earlier version of our Power Drive<tm> Windows
  34. 95 driver installed, you should run the UnInstall program located in 
  35. the Hercules PowerTools program group before continuing.  Doing this 
  36. removes the previous release of software from your hard drive, as well
  37. as all old refernces to the drivers and utilities in your 
  38. configuration files.  The UnInstall program will also change your 
  39. display driver back to the standard VGA driver.  After running the 
  40. UnInstall program, restart your computer.  You will now be ready to 
  41. install this new software.

  44. Running the SETUP Program
  45. =========================

  47. If you received this software release on diskettes, you'll find the
  48. SETUP.EXE program on Disk 1 of our Windows 95 Driver and Utilities
  49. diskettes -- the very same diskette that contains this README.TXT 
  50. file.  If you've downloaded our software from one of our online 
  51. services, you'll find the SETUP.EXE in the archive -- it will be in 
  52. the same directory as is this README.TXT file.

  54. To install the driver and utilities, just run our SETUP.EXE program.  If
  55. you run it from the task bar, make sure you type the entire path to 
  56. the directory that contains SETUP.EXE.  Otherwise, you might 
  57. accidentally launch somebody else's setup program.
  58.  
  59. SETUP.EXE can install the Power Drive driver, our new Touch 95<tm> and
  60. Hercules Entertainment Center<tm> utilities, or both.  To 
  61. automatically install everything, choose the "Typical" option when 
  62. using Setup's "wizard" installation interface.  There's nothing more
  63. to do!

  66. What's New In This Release

  69. 4.52 software contains the following improvements over 4.51:

  71. - Some modifications to Touch 95 dialog boxes
  72. - Online help for Touch 95 and Hercules Entertainment Center now 
  73.   covers the new tools
  74. - Bug fixes
  75. - Dramatic speed improvements
  76. - Touch 95 now has the option to be launched from an icon on the
  77.   taskbar.
  78. - Touch 95 now has a "Zoom In" tab which provides a screen
  79.   magnification utility
  80. - Hercules Entertainment Center now includes a video browser

  83. Known Limitations

  86. - When using a viewport, your viewport's maximum refresh rate is
  87.   limited to the maximum refresh rate of the desktop area if you use 
  88.   the Auto refresh rate option.  For example, if you're using a 
  89.   desktop area of 1280x1024x256 and a viewport area of 800x600, the 
  90.   maximum refresh rate is determined by the maximum refresh rate 
  91.   supported by your card at 1280x1024x256.  However, you can 
  92.   circumvent this issue by manually selecting a viewport refresh rate.
